Welcome

Hi and welcome to my personal blog Motorcycle Paradise, a collection of my riding experiences and the occasion random thought. This site and my attempts at photography are just a hobby and I'm not trying to make either into anything else so some of the road info and photos might be a few years old. More recent info and photos can be found in the ride reports and when I get some time I might transfer this to the original posts. I do not profess to be a word smith so slang, typos and grammar mistakes are all par for the course. Regards IC.

Four Mountains

The area near Bega has some excellent riding.

I previously rode Brown Mountain and I am going to explore a couple more roads there when I next visit. In the meantime here is some preliminary information and I will fill in the gaps at the end of the year.

Near Tathra

A good ride can be enjoyed if aproaching from the North along the coast. Locals often speak of this road and I plan to turn off the Princess highway just after Tilba Tilba and then follow the coast road all the way down to Tathra.

Now as the brochure says - you have four mountain roads to ride. North of Bega is the superb Brown Mountain, the beginning of the Snowy Mountains highway which I have a seperate post about already.

Brown Mtn

Next South is the road going up Mt Darragh. You can continue along the coast on the back roads to Pambula (or rejoin highway) then ride to Bombala via Wyndham and Cathcart.

Between these two roads lies Murtle Mountain road. Just south of Wyndham is the turn off to Murtle Mountain, you can ride over to Bemboka on the road up Brown Mountain on this road travelling via Candelo.

Turn off to Imlay rd

And then to the furtherest south lies Imlay Road. This is a road built primarily for trucks to bring timber down the mountain so the curves are flowing and the grade well surveyed.

For now I will leave it at that. Information leaflet and motorcycle photo on the other roads from the Bombola council home page. I shall update both after I revisit late 2009.
