Welcome

Hi and welcome to my personal blog Motorcycle Paradise, a collection of my riding experiences and the occasion random thought. This site and my attempts at photography are just a hobby and I'm not trying to make either into anything else so some of the road info and photos might be a few years old. More recent info and photos can be found in the ride reports and when I get some time I might transfer this to the original posts. I do not profess to be a word smith so slang, typos and grammar mistakes are all par for the course. Regards IC.

Springbrook mountain

Took a spin up Mt Springbrook this morning. Took the car and that was the right choice as the roads were covered in fallen branches and leaves and twigs. The few motorbikes I saw up there needed to go very easy with the loose road surface.

There has been so much rain this week I thought the waterfalls that are often dry would be putting on a good show and I was not disappointed.

Just after the Canyon Lookout is a picnic BBQ area and from here you can do what is called the twin falls walk which is 4km in length. In the dry there is water flowing on just two falls hence the name however today there were 6 waterfalls on this walk.

Taken from behind the falls. The walking path takes you under the two falls below along it's route.

High winds forecast for Sunday so not sure if I will ride given the amount of debris on the roads already. Will see how it looks in the morning.

HDR photography

Looks like another mixed weekend for weather here ...

In the meantime here is my first attempt at HDR photography. HDR or High Dynamic Range is a technique where you take a number of photos at different exposures and using special software combine 3 or more to create a photo that has a greater contrast range than can be captured in a single exposure.

This was Brisbane last night from my balcony. The contrast is slightly better than any one of the single exposure photos I took however I am still learning how to get best effect from the software.

Hope the weather improves soon to try some more.

(Update: well I woke early Saturday and it looked lousy however that cleared up mid morning but too late to do the big rides and Sunday is forecast rain so will wait and see how that goes)
