Welcome

Hi and welcome to my personal blog Motorcycle Paradise, a collection of my riding experiences and the occasion random thought. This site and my attempts at photography are just a hobby and I'm not trying to make either into anything else so some of the road info and photos might be a few years old. More recent info and photos can be found in the ride reports and when I get some time I might transfer this to the original posts. I do not profess to be a word smith so slang, typos and grammar mistakes are all par for the course. Regards IC.

Australia's best motorcycle roads. Brown Mtn.

Brown Mountain.

The riding from Bega to Cooma is already pretty good without a mountain climb, add in Brown Mtn and its a superb ride.

Leaving Bega you will enjoy a series of sweeping bends which are very enjoyable, you can hold a nice pace and roll on and off the throttle and get into a real groove. I might actually like that part more than the mountain - its just so nice and flowing.

Brown Mtn is quite steep and has alot of overhead trees which drop leaves etc so watch out if it is wet. I encountered both wet road and fog on it to make riding quite challenging.

Up top you have alot of open countryside and high alpine plains. The Monaro Highway here allows you to maintain a quick pace should you want to.

Before you know it your at Cooma and the Snowy Mtns await.
If staying in Cooma then I can recommend the White Manor Motel as a reasonably priced but nice place with friendly staff and walk down to the RSL for a good hearty dinner at reasonable price.
